چکیده
The first megaspores recovered from Ukrainian Lower Cretaceous strata are described and illustrated by reflected light scanning electron micrography. Four lycopsid megaspore taxa identified in core samples north of Kherson (Khersons'ka Oblast), the Black Sea Basin, southern Ukraine. Miospore assemblages same reveal a slightly higher diversity microspores and, conjunction with previous foraminiferal biostratigraphy, indicate an Aptian–Albian age for strata. suite shares genera mid-Mesozoic widely distributed parts world, but most specimens have subtle morphological differences congeneric forms established other regions. accumulated fluvial floodplain facies highlight potential this region investigating mesofossils including early flowers.

A small juvenile turtle is described from the Early Cretaceous Jehol Biota, shedding light on the juvenile morphology and ontogeny of Manchurochelys manchoukuoensis. Several juvenile features are uncovered, such as a small and circular carapace (less than half of the adult), wide vertebral scales, and lateral carapacial fontanelles. In contrast to the adult morphology, which has an oval carapac...

The first dromaeosaurid theropod from the Lower Cretaceous Bayan Gobi Formation is identified based on an incompletely preserved partially-articulated left leg, increasing the known diversity of its understudied ecosystem. The leg belongs to specimen IVPP V22530 and includes a typical deinonychosaurian pedal phalanx II-2 with a distinct constriction between the enlarged proximal end and the dis...
متن کاملThe first South American sandownid turtle from the Lower Cretaceous of Colombia
Sandownids are a group of Early Cretaceous-Paleocene turtles that for several decades have been only known by cranial and very fragmentary postcranial elements. Here I report and describe the most complete sandownid turtle known so far, including articulated skull, lower jaw and postcranial elements, from the Early Cretaceous (upper Barremian-lower Aptian, >120 Ma), Paja Formation, Villa de Ley...
